Third Grade Update

Spring has sprung and we have a great start to the month of May!  We are starting our unit on energy and will make “solar s’mores! We look forward to the Celebration of Friends Day on May 11^th and Game Day on June 3^rd. Don’t forget our last book report is due May 28^th. The following are some of the lessons planned for May and June:

Math—We are continuing work on multiplication and division and will begin working on fractions, measurement, and will have a wonderful, wet time with liquid measurement!

Reading—We will complete the book Ramona Forever. Our next book will be Fantastic Mr. Fox. We will review antonyms and synonyms as well as similes and cause and effect. Homographs will be something new.

Social Studies---We will be reading in our textbook on various communities.

Science—We will complete our unit on Energy with fantastic centers on magnets and electricity! Our next unit is on the sense of sound.

Grammar—We will continue work on adjectives and then move into adverbs. Our writing project is almost complete. The class is finishing up their reports on a Native American tribe.
