GFS Happenings

Lower Schoolers are preparing for a joint concert with the students at Frederick Douglass Christian School on February 24th.  The concert will bring 120 joyous voices together in song and friendship.

The Coffeehouse has been moved to March 4th (snow date March 11).  All other details remain the same--2:00pm curtain call at the Westtown Lower School Community Room.  Click here for directions.

Mindful of our beginnings

Goshen Friends School was established in 1959 as a kindergarten for the children of local farming families. Our founder, Barbara Dixon, envisioned a school filled with joyful learners; where all would be “welcomed, respected and appreciated.” Today, Goshen Friends School is a Quaker, PAIS (Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools) accredited, coeducational, country day school for children, preschool through grade five. Friendship Day

In October, the Goshen Friends’ community welcomed the students and faculty of Frederick Douglass Christian School.    The idea of the first “Friendship Day” was hatched by Lower School music teacher, Charmagne DeVinney.  When not inspiring GFS students to reach their musical potential, Tr. Charmagne spends part of every week volunteering at FDCS.  Her dream was to bring these two schools together and she did it!  Read more...
