Parent Community

The Goshen Parent Community (GPC) is a group of parents who work together to enrich the experience of our children at Goshen Friends. We celebrate any gift of time or service that parents can contribute to make our school the vibrant place it is. The GPC meets monthly to plan upcoming activities and connect with other parents. Whatever your schedule looks like—if you can attend a meeting, support a class activity, or plan an event—you are always welcome.

Please read our GPC Flyer for more information. You can also contact the GPC leadership team or your classroom representatives to join the next meeting or find ways to get involved. Visit the Fundraisers page for some of the ways we support our school, and read about our activities below:

WELCOME PICNIC

At the start of each school year, the GPC hosts a picnic for new and returning families. Parents and their children can meet new friends and enjoy the playground at East Goshen Park.

HARVEST FAIR

The GPC plans an afternoon of fun fair games—including pony rides, bounce houses, spin art, and more—in the early fall.

TEACHER APPRECIATION

Throughout the year, the GPC delivers meals and other treats to let Goshen Friends teachers know that parents recognize the time and effort they devote to our children.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

When needed, the GPC funds one-time purchases for teachers or the campus to help improve our children's experiences at school.

VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION

Each family may contribute once a year (suggested $25) to support the many activities the GPC plans for the school.

CLASS REPRESENTATIVES

The success of the GPC and, ultimately, Goshen Friends School relies heavily on class representatives—ideally two for each class. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Attend monthly GPC meetings
  • Help with class activities or special projects as requested by the teacher
  • Act as a liaison between the GPC and fellow class parents
  • Encourage parent participation in special events and campus activities

Being a class representative is a great opportunity to get to know fellow parents. It's also a positive way to promote and support our school—its students, faculty, and friends!
