Parent Community

The Goshen Parent Community (GPC) includes all parents and caregivers with a child at Goshen Friends School who work together to foster a school community, enrich our children’s preschool experience, and give back to the school. We encourage parents to be involved with the GPC as much as they would like, and we are grateful for any
contributions of time, service, or donations to make our school the vibrant place it is.

The GPC meets monthly to plan upcoming activities and connect with other parents. Whatever your schedule looks like—if you can attend a meeting, support a classroom activity, or plan an event—you are always welcome!

Please read our GPC Flyer for more information. You can also contact the GPC leadership team or your classroom representatives to find ways to get involved. Visit the Fundraisers page for some of the ways we support our school, and read about our activities below:

Harvest Fair
The GPC plans an afternoon of fun & games—including pony rides, bounce houses, face painting, and more—in the early fall.

Valentine Dance
The Valentine Dance has become a recent GFS favorite among students! The party takes place in the Grange with a beautiful balloon arch, sweet treats, crafts, and of course, music and lots of dancing!

Teacher Appreciation
Throughout the year, the GPC delivers snacks, treats, and small tokens of appreciation to let Goshen Friends teachers know that parents recognize the time and effort they devote to our children.

Campus Improvements
When needed, the GPC purchases specially requested items for teachers or helps fund campus improvements.

Voluntary Contribution
Each family may contribute once a year (a suggested donation of $25) to help support the many activities the GPC plans for the school.

Class Representatives
The success of the GPC and, ultimately, Goshen Friends School relies heavily on class representatives—ideally two for each class. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinate signups for weekly snacks and classroom parties
  • Act as a liaison between the GPC and fellow class parents via email
  • Collect funds for and purchase teacher gifts before winter break and at the end of
    the school year

Being a class representative is a great opportunity to get to know fellow parents. It's also a positive way to promote and support our school—its students, faculty, and friends!
